Landing page guide · Ebook or lead magnet

A landing page for your ebook or lead magnet.

A lead magnet page trades something useful — an ebook, checklist, template or guide — for an email address. It works when the thing on offer is specific, clearly valuable and obviously worth more than the small effort of signing up.

Design yours now — the brief is ready

A focused lead magnet landing page for a free ebook, "The small business guide to getting found on Google": a hero with the ebook cover, a clear promise and an email form with a Send me the guide button, a what's-inside list of chapters, a sample page preview, a short author bio, and a note on how the guide is delivered and which emails follow. Warm white, forest green and amber with a confident serif headline.

Your first design is free, with no sign-up. Change anything in the brief, then press Generate.

What a lead magnet page needs

The sections worth building, and why each one earns its place.

  1. A specific title and promise

"The checklist for launching your first Shopify store" beats "Our ecommerce guide". Specific offers are easier to say yes to.

  2. A preview

A cover image, the contents page or a sample spread makes the value tangible.

  3. What's inside

Points on what they'll learn or be able to do.

  4. A short form

Email and, at most, a first name. Every extra field costs sign-ups.

  5. About the author

A few lines on why you're the right person to have written it.

  6. Delivery and privacy

How they'll receive it and what emails will follow, with a link to your privacy policy.

Tips that get more people to act

  • Deliver it instantly — on the thank-you page and by email.
  • Make the offer match the ad or post that sent people there.
  • Use the thank-you page to offer the natural next step, such as a consultation or a trial.
  • Say plainly if signing up adds people to a newsletter.

What to avoid

  • Gating something thin, like a blog post in a PDF wrapper.
  • Signing people up to a newsletter they didn't agree to.
  • Long forms for a free download.
  • A generic Download now with no sense of what's inside.
Ebook or lead magnet

Common questions.

3 answers, each one complete on its own. Search them, or ask us directly.

  1. A page that offers something useful for free — an ebook, checklist, template or guide — in exchange for an email address, so you can follow up with people interested in your topic.

  2. A specific, clearly useful promise, a preview of what's inside, a very short form and instant delivery. The more concrete the title, the easier the decision.

  3. In many places, yes. Privacy laws such as the GDPR require clear consent for marketing emails, so say which emails will follow and give an easy way to opt out. Check the rules that apply to you.
